A recent poll of academics and presidential historians ranked Joe Biden as the 14th best president in American history. Yes, you read correctly: 14.
Biden’s presidency has been marked by numerous crises, from the border crisis to the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster, not to mention the current economic challenges.
Biden has consistently ranked among the lowest approval ratings in the country’s history.
And yet, the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Poll, developed by the American Political Science Association, somehow ranked the current president in the top third of a list of important presidents. He’s basically tied with the founding father and second president of the United States, John Adams.
Biden is ahead of Woodrow Wilson (15), Ronald Reagan (16) and Ulysses S. Grant (17).
President Donald Trump ranked last in the survey, at 45th.

Who is the best president?
It doesn’t take long to realize that the list of best presidents provided by the American Political Science Association is a complete joke.
There isn’t much to argue with at the top, as Abraham Lincoln is ranked as the country’s top president. But George Washington, the first president of the United States, military general and founding father known for his leadership during the American Revolution and his role in setting The United States fell to third place in the survey.
In second place now is Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the progressive standard-bearer.
Other odd notes include President Jimmy Carter with a pretty impressive performance in the top half (22nd). Carter is often viewed as one of the worst presidents in our nation’s history, consistently ranking at the bottom of polls alongside James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson.
Buchanan and Johnson in this poll rank above Trump at 44th and 43rd respectively. Buchanan slowly led the country into the Civil War that Lincoln had to lead the United States through. Johnson was the first president to be impeached.
Barack Obama is ranked as the seventh best president in American history.

He ranked Trump as the worst just a year into his presidency
This survey of the best presidents, broken down by respondents’ ideology, demonstrates an even more absurd claim when it comes to Biden.
Democrats rank him 13th according to findings from the American Political Science Association. Republicans and conservatives separately rank him at No. 30. It seems far-fetched that conservatives would or could name 15 other presidents worse than Biden.
It is also important to note that these same “experts” will assist in the writing of our future history books.
The poll appears to be a desperate attempt to make Biden more acceptable to the American people ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
While they rank Biden as significantly better than Trump, the current president has consistently ranked well below his predecessor in approval ratings and is losing in most 2024 election polls.
In fact, a good portion of Democrats themselves don’t even believe Biden should remain in the race. Yet we’re supposed to believe she’s in the top 15 in American history.
The same American Political Science Association poll of experts conducted in 2018 ranked President Trump as the worst in history, even though he had only been in the White House for a full year.
