Illegal immigrants arriving in New York City will now reportedly receive debit cards worth up to $10,000. This is crazy.
Is it any wonder so many of these people want to go to the Big Apple? They already get free hotel rooms and meals. What could they need $10,000 a month for?

It takes money to make money, as the old saying goes, and apparently it also takes money (up to $53 million) to give money away.
Earlier this month, The Post broke the story that Mayor Adams is giving out prepaid cash cards to immigrants.
Unusually for the mayor, Adams did not go public with this story, and his administration for nearly a month has failed to correct several public misperceptions about it.
A misperception is that the program allows the city to give only $50 million to immigrants.
It is not surprising that the mayor has been reticent.
This debit card program (if you read the actual contract) has the potential to become an indefinite, multi-billion dollar Bermuda Triangle of disappearing, untraceable cash, used for any purpose.
It will give immigrants up to $10,000 each in taxpayer money without identity verification, restrictions and fraud checks.
Total madness.
